It is a common misconception that bats are rodents, but they are in fact a completely different order, Chiroptera, the second largest order of mammals after Rodentia. They are drastically different animals. It's like calling a chimpanzee a dog. (P.S. Thank you for running this site. It is a tremendous help to people too poor to afford the books.)
