Description | Automated import from Google spreadsheet. Under description for venomous snakes: "Countless species of POISONOUS snakes dwell in the wild, their bites capable of bringing down creatures much larger than themselves." My emphasis, as snakes are, as indicated in the title "venomous". The difference being that venom is injected (as from a bite) while poison is ingested or absorbed. Conflating of these two words, or using them interchangeably, is very common; however there is a clear distinction that is well-defined, well-accepted standard. Forgive the Wikipedia link, but it's good shorthand explanation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison | ||||
