Description | Automated import from Google spreadsheet. In the (really nice) grapple flowchart, created by Tom Flock and linked in a box under the "grapple" entry in combat rules, there is a mistake. In Chart 1 "round 2" describing options for the defender in a grappling situation, the first option is for the defender to "attempt to become the controlling grappler as a standard action". It then goes on to say that "the defender makes CMB or escape artist check vs the attackers CMD", and if successful becomes the controlling grappler. The error in this is that the "escape artist" skill does NOT allow taking control of the grapple, but merely to escape a "grappled" or "pinned" condition. (("You can make an Escape Artist check in place of a combat maneuver check to escape a grapple or to change from a pinned condition to merely grappled." (From the grapple entry under the escape artist skill).)). Apart from (as far as i can see) it being the case per RAW, this also makes a lot of sense. | ||||
